Jarabe Tapatio is the title of the music and accompanying dance which is known as the national dance of Mexico. The song was composed by Jesús González Rubio and the dance was choreographed by Felipa Lopez. It is a symbol recognized world-wide of the national pride and honor of the Mexican people.
The obverse of the coin shows the Mexican national arms and a left facing eagle within the center of assorted arms. The reverse depicts Mexican dancers, the issuing country and denomination.
