Featured Coin
Aruba
10 Florin
2001

This week's featured coin celebrates a part of the country's natural wildlife. This particular coin depicts the Chelonia mydas, commonly known as the Green turtle, Myda turtle or Green sea turtle.

The Green sea turtle is a large sea turtle belonging to the family Cheloniidae. It is the only species in the genus Chelonia. The range of the species extends throughout tropical and subtropical seas around the world, with two distinct populations in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Their common name derives from the green fat underneath their shell.

The coin depicts seven Green sea turtles, with the denomination on top and the country and date on the bottom.

2,000 coins were minted with a value of $75 in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
