Canadian numismatic publisher James E. “Jim” Charlton died Sept. 20 in Hamilton, Canada, at the age of 102.

Founder of Charlton Press, which publishes numerous Canadian guide books, Mr. Charlton published his first book in 1952. Catalogue of Canadian Coins, Tokens & Fractional Currency was compiled while he operated a coin shop in Toronto, Canada, but soon afterwards his publishing endeavors prompted him to sell his coin business to continue publishing full time.

His funeral was held Sept. 28.
