A “Technicolor” 1905 $20 Gold Certificate, Fr. 1180, in PCGS Gem New 65 PPQ brought $70,500 in Heritage’s Currency Signature Auction, Sept. 26-27, 30 and Oct. 1 in Long Beach, Calif. The rarity bore serial No. 6.

The price includes the 17.5 percent buyer’s premium as do other prices listed here. The full sale total for the event held in conjunction with the Long Beach Expo was $7,639,781.

Selling for $49,937 was a 1928 Gold Certificate, Fr. 2405, PCGS Gem New 66 PPQ. A newly discovered First Charter 1875 $50 on the The United States National Bank of the City of New York, charter 2507, Fr. 446, in PMG Choice Fine 15 went for $44,062.50.

• 1918 $1,000 Federal Reserve Note, Fr. 1133-D, PCGS Apparent Very Fine, $35,$21,150;
