An international panel of judges was to select winners by a Nov. 10 deadline in each of 10 categories from a field of 99 contenders dated 2012.

The United States has two entries, the Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park quarter and the Star-Spangled Banner silver dollar.

A second round of balloting will determine the Coin of the Year winner. The award will be given Feb. 8, 2014, at the World Money Fair in Berlin, Germany.
