Dealer Frank S. Robinson will conduct his 90th mail auction of ancient and early coins with a closing date of Feb. 11. The sale will include 458 lots.
Noteworthy among Greek coins in the sale are an Amphipolis tetradrachm in Superb EF; an Athenian “owl” tetradrachm in AEF; a Baktrian tetradrachm of Demetrios I graded Choice VF-EF; a nice run of Elymais bronzes; a rare Koson silver drachm in EF; a Kyme tetradrachm graded VF+/VF; a VF Selinos tetradrachm; and an archaic Thasos stater in VF.
In the Roman section bidders will find a VF Julius Caesar denarius; a nice Livia dupondius in VF/VF-EF; an AEF Caligula As; a rare first issue Nero denarius in EF/VF; a Choice VF Judea Capta denarius; an affordable Marciana sestertius; a Didius Julianus denarius, F/AF; a VF Pupienus antoninianus; a VF Marius; and a choice EF Galerius argenteus.
