American Veterans Disabled for Life coin

When commemorative silver dollars honoring American Veterans Disabled for Life went on sale Feb. 25, buyers noticed that proof prices had increased from the level of last year’s commemorative issues.

Proof dollars carried a price tag of $39.95 each for the pre-issue discount period, up by $2. The uncirculated version’s price remained the same at $33.95 each.

A $10 surcharge from the sale of these coins will go to the Disabled Veterans LIFE Memorial Foundation to support the construction of the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The introductory prices expire March 29. At that point the proofs will be $43.95 each and the uncirculateds $35.95.

To order, visit the U.S. Mint’s Web site at www.usmint.gov. Orders also may be placed by telephone at (800) USA-MINT.
